NEW YORK (Billboard) - Rock band Staind will release its first album in three years on August 19, and has lined up opening slots for tours headlined by 3 Doors Down and Nickelback.

"The Illusion of Progress" (Atlantic) is the follow-up to the chart-topping "Chapter V," which has sold 986,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The new album's first single, "Believe," will hit U.S. radio outlets on June 24.

In the meantime, Staind will hit the road on July 4 in Muskegon, Mich., with 3 Doors Down and Hinder; international dates with Nickelback are scheduled for September. The band will be in Los Angeles on Tuesday to play a noon set at the Viper Room for music industry insiders.

Staind, famed for such hit songs as "It's Been Awhile" and "Right Here," have sold more than 12 million records worldwide, according to a band spokeswoman.
