April 29 Natus Medical Inc (BABY.O) posted a
quarterly loss, hurt by a higher-than-expected restructuring
charge, but said hospital spending is returning to previous
levels and raised its 2010 view.
The medical device maker said it saw strong demand in all
of its product categories, including a rebound in its domestic
neurology business where it shipped numerous large orders.
For the first quarter, the company posted a loss of
$303,000, or 1 cent per share, compared with a profit of
$787,000, or 3 cents a share, in the year-ago period.
Excluding the restructuring charge, the company said it
earned 9 cents a share in the latest quarter. Revenue rose 47
percent to $49.2 million.
Analysts were expecting a profit of 3 cents a share, and
revenue of $46.3 million for the quarter, according to Thomson
