TBILISI (Reuters) - Three Russian jets entered Georgian airspace and "dropped bombs" at two locations just south of breakaway South Ossetia, where fighting raged on Friday, Georgia's interior ministry said.

Spokesman Shota Utiashvili said two jets had attacked a police station near the town of Kareli and a third dropped a bomb near Gori, where Georgian forces had gathered before an offensive against South Ossetian separatists overnight.

"Several civilians have been wounded in Kareli," he told Reuters.
