TEHRAN (Reuters) - European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana on Saturday handed Iran a world powers' offer of trade and other benefits to coax it into halting sensitive nuclear work, his spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman, Cristina Gallach, said Solana presented the offer to Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in Tehran and that talks were currently taking place.
