Chrysler recalling cars for possible engine fires
DETROIT (Reuters) - Chrysler LLC said on Friday it was recalling 102,042 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring cars because of possible engine fires.
The recall involves vehicles from model year 2007-2008 with 2.4-liter engines.
"In certain isolated situations, particularly when the vehicle is operated in hot weather, a contaminated cooling fan connector can overheat, which may result in an under hood fire," Chrysler said in a statement.
No accidents or injuries have been reported, the company said.
Chrysler said its dealers would inspect the cooling fan motor connector for contamination or damage and new wiring would be installed.
