Magnitude 7.8 quake hits Sichuan, China: USGS
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A major earthquake of 7.8 magnitude shook China's Sichuan province on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The tremor struck at 2:28 p.m. local time (0628 GMT) and was centered 57 miles northwest of Chengdu in China's Sichuan province at a depth of 18 miles, USGS said.
