TORONTO (Reuters Life!) - The Center for Culinary Development named seven food trends from Japan and Western Europe to hit the North American market. Examples are:

Beauty foods: collagen-rich pigs' feet and antioxidant-loaded acai berry "age-defying" water.

Brain enhancers: energy-boosting caffeinated drinks and memory-enhancing cereal bars.

Huetrition: CCD term used to describe healthy eating by color of foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins and amino acids. Such foods would be black sesame and dark chocolate in Japan; purple asparagus in Europe and North America.

Satiety foods: whole-grain cereals, frozen-vegetable blends and fruit smoothies.

Mood foods: Japanese stress-busting candies and vitamin-infused water sold in North America.

Immunity: Chinese herbal extracts and Indian-spiced prepared foods.

Digestive health: probiotic yogurts and dairy drinks.
