BP evacuates Gulf of Mexico workers ahead of Dean
NEW YORK (Reuters) - BP Plc said on Friday it has begun removing nonessential workers from its oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico ahead of Hurricane Dean.
"It will take two days, so removal of nonessential workers will be going on through the weekend," said a BP spokesman.
He said the company has not shut in production of oil and gas, but will monitor the storm.
