Kids Station recalls 1 million toy cell phones
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Kids Station Toys International Ltd is recalling about 1 million Little Tikes Chit 'N Chat toy cell phones due to a choking hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Wednesday.
The agency said the hinge cover on the Chinese-made toys can detach from the phone, posing a choking hazard to young children.
The agency and the Miami-based firm have received three reports of the toy breaking, including one report of a child beginning to choke on a small part, the CPSC said.
The toys were sold at department, juvenile product and drug stores nationwide from June 2006 through March 2008 for about $8 each, or about $20 for a set, the CPSC said.
