BEIJING (Reuters) - American sisters Serena and Venus Williams thrashed Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual 6-2 6-0 to win the Olympic gold medal in tennis women's doubles on Sunday.

The Williamses blazed to victory in a little over an hour. They have now won two Olympic doubles titles, having also achieved the feat in Sydney in 2000 when Venus also won the singles gold medal.

The bronze medal went to China's Zheng Jie and Yan Zi.
