LAS VEGAS, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines claimed the WBO welterweight title by stopping holder Miguel Cotto in the 12th round at the MGM Grand on Saturday.

The 30-year-old southpaw twice knocked the Puerto Rican to the canvas in earlier rounds before the referee ended the fight after Pacquiao had pummelled his opponent against the ropes.
