Democratic hopeful Dodd to drop White House bid
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Long-shot Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Christopher Dodd was expected to announce his withdrawal from the White House race after a poor showing in the Iowa caucuses, sources close to the senator said on Thursday.
Dodd, a senator from Connecticut, heads the important U.S. Senate Banking Committee which is has been working on legislation to address the subprime mortgage crisis.
