NEW YORK (Reuters) - Hamco Inc said on Friday it applied the testing standards required by California Proposition 65 to the vinyl baby bibs.

Hamco said in a statement the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission tested a range of its bibs this spring and found that none posed a risk to children.

On Friday, retailer Toys "R" Us removed all of Hamco's vinyl baby bibs from its shelves after an independent tester said that samples contained excessive amounts of lead.

Hamco is a subsidiary of Crown Crafts Inc.

The bibs in question were made in China.
