July 5 (Reuters) - SonoSite Inc. (SONO.O) said it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against General Electric Co. (GE.N) and some of its affiliates related to handheld ultrasound diagnostic devices.

The medical equipment maker said GE and its affiliated companies infringed SonoSite's patents through sales of ultrasound products, including GE's compact ultrasound systems.

In the lawsuit, the company has sought unspecified monetary damages and a court injunction against future infringement by GE and affiliates.
