Nov 14 (Reuters) - Sports news in brief from around the world on Friday.

Soccer - Egypt's Al Ahli have drafted in midfielder Ahmed Fathi, who has been absent since April with an Achilles tendon injury, for Sunday's second leg of the African Champions League final against Cameroon's Coton Sport.

The Cairo side, seeking a record sixth Champions League triumph, hold a 2-0 lead from the first leg going into the match in Cameroon.

Coton Sport are hoping to become the first Cameroon side to win the Champions League since Canon Yaounde in 1980.

Soccer - Coach Jose Mourinho said he is happy for Inter Milan to stay out of the January transfer market and hinted Real Madrid may have trouble luring away Hernan Crespo after media reports that they wanted the Argentine striker to stand in for injured Ruud van Nistelrooy.

"I'm totally willing to finish the season with the footballers I have at my disposal today," Mourinho told a news conference. "If Crespo can be important for Real, he can be important for Inter too."

Crespo has played a marginal role this season under Mourinho, who left him out of Inter's squad for the group stage of the Champions League.

Rugby - Perpignan hooker Marius Tincu failed in his bid to overturn an 18-week ban for eye-gouging when an independent appeal committee upheld the ban issued two weeks ago.

The Romania international was found guilty of gouging Ospreys prop Paul James in a Heineken Cup match on Oct. 18.

Rugby - The Rugby Football Union Council approved the creation of a 12-team professional Championship (second) division to operate below the Premierships, starting with 2009/10 season.

The Council also approved 12 of 13 recommendations from the Rugby Landscape Task Group that will make other significant changes to the structure of the game in England.

Olympics - Andrew Hunt, the head of a security firm, has been appointed new chief executive of the British Olympic Association.

The 44-year-old succeeds Simon Clegg, who will become chef de mission for the British team in the run-up to the London 2012 Olympics. (Editing by Alan Baldwin)
