HP closes $13.9 billion purchase of EDS
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Hewlett-Packard (HPQ.N), the computer and printer maker, said on Tuesday it closed the $13.9 billion purchase of Electronic Data Systems Corp., a deal that HP hopes will help it better compete with IBM (IBM.N).
The company said it would further discuss its plans for EDS during a meeting with analysts on September 15.
