LAS VEGAS (Reuters) - China's Huawei Technologies Co Ltd HWT.UL is not interested in buying the mobile phone business of Motorola Inc (MOT.N) because the companies have different approaches to the cellphone market, Ross Gan, Huawei's global head of corporate communications said on Tuesday.

Motorola said last week it would spin off its struggling mobile phone business into a separate publicly-traded business, leading to speculation that the move could lead to an eventual sale of the unit.

But Huawei said it was not interested in buying the business as it is focused on selling its phones under the brand of its mobile operator customers, while Motorola sells phones to consumers under its own brand.

"Our approaches are very different. As such, there is no interest on that basis," Gan said in an interview with Reuters at the CTIA annual wireless showcase.
