(Reuters) - U.S. auto sales fell 35.5 percent in December from a year earlier, according to data from auto manufacturers on Monday. The following are highlights from the largest carmakers in the U.S. market.
Overall industry
* Total light vehicle sales 896,124 units.
* Seasonally adjusted annualized sales rate 10.32 mln vs 16 mln a year earlier
General Motors Corp
* Light vehicle sales down 31 percent (221,983 units)
* Year-to-date sales down 22.9 percent
* Vehicle inventories at month-end: 872,000, down about 36,000 units from a year earlier
* Cars/trucks: Car sales down 24.9 percent/light truck sales down 34.8 percent
* Key vehicles: Chevrolet Impala up 18.8 percent, Chevrolet Malibu up 42.6 percent, Chevrolet Silverado down 37.8 percent, Chevrolet Tahoe down 43.5 percent, GMC Sierra down 34.4 percent.
* Incentives: average $3,661 per vehicle, up from $3,490 a year earlier.
Toyota Motor Corp
* Vehicle sales down 36.7 percent (141,949 units)
* Year-to-date sales down 15.7 percent
* Cars/trucks: Car sales down 34.8 percent, trucks down 39 percent
