Baidu to be first Chinese firm in Nasdaq 100 index

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Top Chinese Internet search firm Baidu.com Inc (BIDU.O) said its American Depositary Shares will join the Nasdaq 100 Index from Tuesday.

Beijing-based Baidu.com said it is the first company from China to be included into the Nasdaq 100 index.

The company's shares rose around 2.2 percent in early trade following the announcement. (Reporting by Ritsuko Ando)
