Origin shares up over 4 pct on BG hostile bid
SYDNEY (Reuters) - Shares in Australia's Origin Energy Ltd (ORG.AX) rose more than 4 percent on Tuesday after British gas producer BG Group (BG.L) launched a hostile A$13.8 billion ($13.1 billion) bid for Origin.
By 9:11 p.m. EDT, Origin shares were up 4.5 percent at A$16.20, compared with BG's offer price of A$15.50 each, while the broader market .AXJO was down 0.6 percent. ($1=A$1.05)
