FACTBOX: Security developments in Iraq

(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 5:15 p.m. EDT on Tuesday.

* DIYALA - A bomb attached to a tractor killed five people at a checkpoint manned by a neighborhood patrol group on Monday in Diyala province, northeast of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

* MOSUL - A roadside bomb wounded 11 people on Tuesday in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

KIRKUK - Gunmen shot dead an Iraqi journalist working for a Kurdish magazine in Kirkuk city, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad on Monday, police and the publication said.

KIRKUK - A roadside bomb killed a police lieutenant-colonel and wounded four of his guards on Monday in northern Kirkuk, police said.

BAGHDAD - A suicide car bomber wounded nine people including three policemen in an attack on their checkpoint in northwest Baghdad on Monday, the U.S. military said.

HASWA - Gunmen shot and wounded five civilians on Monday in Haswa, 50 km (30 miles), south of Baghdad, police said.

TIKRIT - Gunmen opened fire on the convoy of Khalid Burhan, head of the health office of Salahuddin province in central Tikrit, 150 km (95 miles) north of Baghdad, wounding his guards, police said. Burhan escaped unharmed.

DIBIS - Iraqi police found the body of a civilian in Dibis, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said. The body bore gunshot wounds. (Compiled by Aws Qusay)
