(Reuters) - The world's poorest countries are exempt from potentially painful tariff cuts under a global trade treaty that ministers are seeking to cement.

Only a few dozen developing powers will have to apply tariff cuts in proposals to be discussed at the high-level World Trade Organization (WTO) talks which began on Monday in Geneva.

These are: Argentina, Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
