WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A majority of the House of Representatives on Friday has voted in favor of a $700 billion financial industry bailout bill.

With the House vote continuing, more than 218 lawmakers in the 435-member chamber have now voted for the controversial bill. A final tally is expected soon and the measure is headed for passage unless enough lawmakers unexpectedly switch their votes to "no."
