WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has won two out of its three claims in a landmark trade case against weaknesses in China's laws to protect intellectual property like music and films, a U.S. trade official said on Thursday.

"We are, of course, still reviewing the report. But so far we are very pleased that this (World Trade Organization) panel has found that China has violated its WTO obligations," the trade official said, contradicting sources in Geneva who said China had won two of the three points.

The U.S. can not comment further on the report at this time because it remains confidential, the trade official said.
