WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Thursday reiterated its opposition to a Democratic proposal for a new economic stimulus package.

"We have long said that the package that they have put forward so far was not something that we could support," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

"It takes three to tango in this town," she said, referring to the House, Senate and White House. "I don't think that the Democrats are quite settled yet on how they would pass that through the Senate. So I think we need to let them work that through and we'll see what they come up with."
