Clinton raises $20 million in March: source

BURBANK, California (Reuters) - Democrat Hillary Clinton raised $20 million for her presidential bid in March, a campaign source said on Thursday, putting her well behind the more than $40 million raised by rival Barack Obama.

"That's our second best fund-raising month to date," the campaign source said. Clinton, a New York senator, raised $35 million in February.

Obama, an Illinois senator, raised more than $40 million in March as the hard-fought Democratic presidential battle continued to shatter fundraising records.

Clinton, speaking to reporters in California, said she would have enough money to continue her fight with Obama. The two are competing for the right to take on Republican John McCain in November's presidential election.

"We're both raising huge amounts of money," she said. "I have enough money to compete. Obviously Senator Obama has more than enough money to compete."
