New Report Takes a Look at Broadband Projects in South Australia and the Northern Territory
DUBLIN, Ireland--(Business Wire)--
Research and Markets
(http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c85159) has announced the
addition of Australia - Broadband Projects - South Australia &
Northern Territory to their offering.
The size of these two states makes it difficult to develop
economically viable regional broadband projects. Nevertheless some
remarkable projects have been rolled out, such as the one in Coorong,
Yorke Peninsula and Salisbury in South Australia. Regional projects in
Northern Territory are also covered in this report. In August 2006 the
KIDB and Kangaroo Island Council had taken the lead on developing a
broadband project with the aim of delivering broadband services across
the Island. In November 2006 Internode announced it would deploy
broadband infrastructure in a 42,000sq kms region stretching from
Adelaide's northern fringe to the Flinders Ranges, through an
agreement with the Central Local Government Region of SA. By 2007 the
Australian Government's broadband broker program had effectively
concluded in South Australia and had succeeded in promoting the
development of projects to deliver broadband services to virtually all
regions of the state. By the end of 2007, after more than six months
of delay and frustration for residents and businesses, the provision
of wireless broadband to South Australian country regions was back on
track.
