Author analyzes relationships from character, celebrity, biographical
standpoint

SAN DIEGO, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Everyone knows the Mary Ann type of woman:
The wholesome, giving "girl next door." But there's also the Ginger type:
Sexual, selfish and conniving.

The Gilligan's Island archetypes are more than fiction or lore, they're part
of every man's dilemma, and ones that author Barry Rothman is willing to
detail in his personal account of his experiences with girls, "Mary Ann or
Ginger -- The Dilemma in Every Man's Life and How to Deal With It" (published
by iUniverse). Every man -- and woman -- knows what Rothman is talking about.
"We've all been through the dating process, and with mixed results," Rothman
said. So he relates every single experience with a girl, all the way back to
first grade, analyzing each with a conclusion of what he may have done right,
or wrong, and what lessons can be learned. He uses examples from the lives of
fictional characters and real celebrities and the choices they made -- for
example, the character Yuri Zhivago in the movie Dr. Zhivago.

About the Author

Barry Rothman was born in Cleveland and remembers vividly his first experience
with girls back in first grade in 1960. He moved to Dallas at age 9 and
continued his dating life, eventually attending college at the University of
Texas and University of Colorado, earning a bachelor's in business finance,
going on to law school at Southern Methodist University, Dallas and Denver
University. He was a practicing attorney for 30 years. His passion for fine
arts led him to a membership in the Screen Actors Guild (his credits include a
Perry Mason made-for-TV movie), and his dance lessons led him to an appearance
in a local production of The Nutcracker. He has also traveled extensively, all
the while continuing to pursue women in search of his soulmate.
