New Fiction From Hong Kong, China Aims at Worldwide Audience Interested in Asia
HONG KONG, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- What do you think for a story with Asian
culture elements, but expressed softly, funnily and excitedly? Meng Qi, the
author of "Dragon Phoenix Blog," recalled his discussion with the other two
authors years ago: "'Dragon Phoenix Blog' is a sunshine novel with liveliness,
love and peace. It also represents the latest Asian thinking -- growing
positively with home country identification instead of feeling sad or shame
for inadequate areas."
Breaking the record of the world's youngest doctor (17 years old), Dragon and
Phoenix got a MD degree from Harvard and Stanford, respectively, at the age of
15. Well, it is nothing special as they are the descendants of the two
cleverest men in the Chinese history.
Witnessed by the two Great Monks in Phuket, Dragon and Phoenix meet and join
hands to rescue people from the tsunami. In line of the Master Monk's saying,
"What goes in, what comes out," these two brilliant boys begin their
extraordinary life journey.
Meng Qi further commented on their ideas behind Dragon Phoenix Blog: "We
believe that Asia is definitely the coming star in cultural arts. Books, films
and other fine arts from Asia will attract eyes all over the world. However,
what currently most available or known about Asia in western communities are
old stereotyped images of Asia. They are outdated, hard and dark sided.
"Understandings of Asian culture are the key for the world's peace and bright
evolutions. The most appropriate way to achieve it is 'doing it softly,
interestingly and heartedly.'
"We are proud of having great insights on rising Asia cultural arts and
committed to the great vision in this work. 'Dragon Phoenix Blog' is our first
step in achieving our goals by fictions with fun and love. We have the mission
of having a world famous novel originated from Asia with the collaboration of
different writers all over the world.
"'Dragon Phoenix Blog' brings the message of another Renaissance of China to
the world. Though Hong Kong is regarded as the Desert of Culture and we have
little talent and less learning, we believe the Heavens' arrangements are very
special. We completed this book with utterly fearless spirits to pass the
great message from Hong Kong throughout the seven continents of the world,
just like at the last chapter of 'Chang Qu Reunion,' Phoenix at the worst
school passed the firefly 'Big Dipper' in his hand to Fujimoto Miho to light
up her heart, the Colosseum and the world at the end."
