Ortiz to Host Celebrity Golf Tournament to Benefit The David Ortiz Children's

David Ortiz, and his wife Tiffany, to Link Pediatric Critical Care to Children
in New England and the Dominican Republic

BOSTON, Mass., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- David Ortiz and his wife, Tiffany
Ortiz, are proud to announce the inaugural David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic
in his native Dominican RepublicDecember 4th-7th, 2008. The fund-raising
event directly supports the David Ortiz Children's Fund which is dedicated to
raising funds for children in New England and the Dominican Republic and
providing access to the pediatric care they need to live full and productive
lives.

year alone over 40 children received open heart surgery because of the Ortiz's

About David Ortiz Children Fund
In 2006 David learned of the International Hospital for Children (IHC), a
non-profit organization linking pediatric critical care services to children
in developing countries. He was particularly inspired by the Dominican HEARTS
program, a collaborative effort initiated by IHC and Heart Care Dominicana
with a consortium of 6 U.S. health focused international organizations. This
consortium is dedicated to training and empowering Dominican doctors and
nurses at Cedimat Hospital in Santo Domingo to care for the cardiac needs of
Dominican children. Today because of these efforts and the support from The
David Ortiz Children's Fund, Dominican children no longer have to wait for the
heart care they so desperately need.
The goal of this fund is to heal as many children as possible in his
native country in all critical care aspects, as well as partner with
children's health efforts in New England.
