Weather to Samsung Phones around the World
SEOUL, South Korea--(Business Wire)--
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in
Wireless Communications Equipment, today announced the public availability of
its Wireless Olympic Works (WOW) communications platform, a comprehensive
application designed to keep users connected and informed during the Vancouver
2010 Olympic Winter Games.

To meet the public`s desire for information anytime and anywhere, fans around
the world can download and install Samsung`s Public WOW Application from
Samsung`s official Olympic Games microsite (www.samsung.com/vancouver2010). For
the first time, people will receive up-to-the minute information, including
Olympic news, schedules, results and medal standings previously available only
to official staff. The application is free to download to Samsung`s Omnia II
device or any Samsung smartphone that supports the Windows Mobile 6.1 or 6.5
operating systems.

"Our focus for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games is on linking consumers
around the world to the Games using Samsung technology in a way that`s not been
done before," said Paul Brannen, General Manager, Mobile Communications, Samsung
Electronics Canada. "Samsung will connect fans through its WOW technology,
mobile phones and website to enable people to share and celebrate their
favourite Olympic `WOW` moments with friends and family."

Samsung has provided wireless technology to enable communication between
officials and staff using state-of-the-art mobile phones and WOW since the
Athens 2004 Olympic Games. For the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Samsung
has brought WOW to a new level with advanced technology, new media and improved
accessibility that will link fans directly to the Games using their mobile
phones.

"We are pleased to continue our sponsorship of the Olympic Games as the
Worldwide Olympic Partner for wireless communications equipment," said Gyehyun
Kwon, vice president and head of Worldwide Sports Marketing, Samsung
Electronics. "While we are making WOW publicly available, the platform was
specifically developed to support Olympic Games operations and will continue to
play a key role in all Games-time communications for the Olympic family."

Samsung will provide an estimated 9,200 units of wireless communications
equipment for use at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games by VIPs, delegates
and organizing staff - the Olympic Family. For the Olympic Family, WOW includes
services such as Olympic Games information updates (mINFO), text-based Games
status casting service (mLIVE) and Group Messaging service (mCOMM). As a
messaging tool, the WOW service will enable users to send operation messages to
large groups simultaneously, including schedule notifications, work orders and
other services.

For all Omnia II (I8000), OmniaLITE (B7300) and Omnia (I900) users in the UK,
France and Italy, where the Samsung Application Store (www.samsungapps.com) is
