WASHINGTON--(Business Wire)--
Mark Penn, author of Microtrends: The Small Forces Behind
Tomorrow's Big Changes, along with his co-author Kinney Zalesne,
announced today that the Microtrends "Quiz" has gone live on Facebook.
By logging onto Facebook, adding the Microtrends application (located
at http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=10036567867), and
taking the short Microtrends quiz, Facebook users can find out "Which
1% Are You" -- and compare results with their friends.

In Microtrends: The Small Forces Behind Tomorrow's Big Changes,
Penn and Zalesne argue that it takes just one percent of society to
make or break a business, tip an election, or start a social movement.
The book showcases 75 under-the-radar -- but intense and growing --
groups who are poised to determine our future, including everything
from "Old New Dads" to "Pet Parents" to "Southpaws Unbound."

Now readers can find out which Microtrends they are, and
ultimately connect to others in their group. Microtrend-spotters can
also submit their own trend ideas to the Microtrends Contest at
http://microtrending.com/contest.php.

"We are thrilled by the reaction to the book," said Penn. "It
seems to be popular among both business readers and the general
public, and we are delighted to have this chance to take Microtrends
to the next level -- making it both personal and interactive."

Published in September, 2007, by Twelve, Microtrends made the New
York Times bestseller list and was a Wall Street Journal top-ten
business seller. Called "addictively interesting" by Booklist and
"unrelentingly fascinating" by the New York Times, Microtrends was
also one of the Top Ten books sold on college campuses.
