Texas Dow Employees Credit Union Launches Young & Free
Financial Program for Generation Y Kicks Off with Interactive
Spokesperson Search
LAKE JACKSON, Texas--(Business Wire)--
If ever there was a program to transform the credit union
industry, Young & Free is it. The Texas Dow Employees Credit Union
(TDECU), a not-for-profit financial cooperative with over 125,000
members, today launched the much sought-after Young & Free program, a
financial management package designed to engage 19 to 25-year-olds
towards effectively managing their money. Starting today, entries will
be accepted online from prospective spokespeople who feel they have
what it takes to best connect with their peers.
"We are proud to offer Young & Free to Texas' Generation Y, as
this program is uniquely designed by them and for them," said Ed
Speed, President and CEO, TDECU. "Young people today are spending more
time online than ever, so it made sense to be where they are to most
effectively connect and encourage the successful management of their
finances."
Starting today, young people will be able to submit and view
spokesperson entries and vote for their favorites online at
www.youngfreetexas.com. The winning spokesperson will serve as the
voice for Young & Free members by attending events and keeping the
site fresh with blogs, vlogs and polls that educate, entertain and
engage Generation Y.
Young & Free engages Generation Y through nontraditional mediums,
including presence on the microsite www.youngfreetexas.com, Facebook,
Flickr, Twitter and YouTube, as well as live at any TDECU branch,
where young people can become members and get in on the action.
"Young & Free has a proven track record and is recognized
throughout North America," adds Speed. "We believe the program's
credibility and uniqueness will attract young people and ultimately
the best spokesperson for the campaign."
The spokesperson contest is open to any Texan resident between the
ages of 19 and 25. TDECU owns the exclusive rights to Young & Free in
the state of Texas.
