In the news release, J.D. Power and Associates Reports: Overall Initial
Quality Improves Considerably, with Gains Shared Across Most Manufacturers,
issued on June 4, 2008 by J.D. Power and Associates over PR Newswire, we are
advised by the company that in the chart titled, "2008 Assembly Plant Quality
Award Recipients," the third item in the Asia Pacific section should show that
the Toyota Motor Corporation plant in Tahara, Japan receives a Silver Award
with 43 PP100, rather than a Bronze Award with 44 PP100 as originally issued
inadvertently.
The scores for the Toyota Motor Corporation plant in Tahara, Japan
reported in the original press release inadvertently included all Lexus IS
vehicles. When filtered for only those vehicles built at the Tahara plant,
its score improves to 43 PP100 vehicles. Thus, the Tahara plant is tied with
the Nissan Motor Company's Tochigi, Japan, plant for the Silver Award in the
Asia Pacific region.
Only the Tahara plant score was affected by the correction; all other
nameplate and model-level scores remain unchanged.
