New Equipment Gives Residents in Harrisburg and Beyond Greater Access to
America`s Most Dependable 3G Network
EDINBURG, Va.--(Business Wire)--
Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel), a Sprint PCS affiliate of
Sprint Nextel, announced today the addition of a new cell site designed to
enhance and expand Dauphin County`s access to the power of Sprint, America`s
most dependable 3G network.1 The new tower site on South Harrisburg Street in
Oberlin went live Friday, June 5th, giving businesses and residents on the south
side of Harrisburg additional capacity and expanding network coverage along the
Interstate 283 corridor. In March 2009, Shentel added a new antenna atop Holy
Spirit Hospital (Senate Avenue) to boost coverage and capacity in the Camp Hill
area. Previously, Shentel announced the siting of new towers in Bedford, Camp
Hill, Carlisle, Chambersburg, Cumberland, Etters, Fairfield, Gardners, Halifax,
Hershey, Lewisberry, Mifflintown, Millerstown, New Bloomfield, New Port,
Schaefferstown, Thompsontown and Wiconisco. Collectively, these installations
give more Dauphin County residents better access to the nation`s premier 3G
network.

The Dauphin County implementations are part of a comprehensive effort by Shentel
to expand coverage, increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless
network. Shentel provides Sprint Now Network coverage along the I-81 corridor
from Harrisonburg, Va. to Harrisburg, York and Altoona, Pa. In 2009, Shentel is
committing over 41% of its $73 million capital budget to finance the
infrastructure investments needed to bring wireless voice and Internet at
blazing fast to all its service areas, including previously uncovered regions.

Christopher French, Shentel President and CEO, says, "Expanding and improving
wireless broadband coverage in Dauphin County-and all 13 of the Pennsylvania
counties we serve-is Shentel`s top priority. As proof of this commitment, we
have brought 46 new sites online in the last year. Across our entire
mid-Atlantic coverage area, Shentel has added 68 new cell sites in the past year
and spent over $34 million in infrastructure improvements. With each
installation, thousands of individuals and businesses gain new or improved
access to the Sprint network, helping us keep pace with growing consumer demand
for mobile broadband services."
