ZipClip -- Introducing the World's Best Way to Fun Up Your Phone!
PALO ALTO, CA and BEIJING and MADRID, SPAIN, Jul 22
(MARKET WIRE) --
As mobile phone usage worldwide continues to increase and evolve to
include more forms of entertainment and enjoyment, users are seeking out
new and better ways to personalize and "fun up" their mobile experiences.
In response to this demand, leading mobile applications provider Berggi
today announced their new product ZipClip. For the first time ever,
consumers easily can clip most anything they want from the Web -- videos,
photos, images, graphics, animations, avatars, thumbnails, and text --
while browsing from their computer, and send it instantly to their mobile
phone or a friend's phone with a simple right-click of the mouse. The
service is free to users, who are only limited by their time and
imagination to "fun up" their phones.
"ZipClip's revolutionary simplicity makes it effortless for people to fun
up their phones with rich and social Web content," said Babur Ozden, CEO
of Berggi. "ZipClip makes people's phones the next big social networking
platform -- especially for hundreds of millions of teenagers and young
adults around the world whose phones are their preferred and sometimes
primary source of entertainment and connection with others."
Prior to ZipClip, tools for sending Web content to mobile phones -- such
as email, SMS, MMS, Bluetooth and cable cords -- had been users' only
means to populate their phones with interesting Web content. However, the
use of these tools is painstakingly time consuming and requires too many
steps. In a single click, ZipClip eliminates the hassle and pain that has
been limiting and inhibiting users from adding more Web content to their
mobile phones.
"ZipClip leverages a few simple insights: consumers prefer to use their
computer, not their phone to browse the Web; they have limited time when
on their phone and want to take a specific and immediate action -- like
talking, texting, or accessing desired content instantly; and consumers
prefer unlimited choice, not constraints. ZipClip brings this all
together. It's free, simple, and the only instant and effortless way
available today to send exactly the content you want from the Web to your
mobile phone," continued Ozden.
How ZipClip Works
To start, go to www.zipclip.com, and select "Get It Now." ZipClip will
direct users through a short and simple installation of the application on
their computer and mobile phone.
As users browse the Web from their computer, and see a particular item
that they want to put into their phones, they simply right-click their
mouse on that content and select "Send to my phone," from the installed
ZipClip menu on their browser. The clipped content is instantly placed in
their "My Stuff" folder in the ZipClip application on their phones. In
this way, users can clip and send a variety of content effortlessly to
their phones and to friends' phones -- Web to phone, or phone to phone --
and "fun up" their mobile phones.
In addition, ZipClip offers an online instant content editing tool called
Studio, which allows users to customize and personalize clipped content. A
user can shorten long videos into a few seconds, crop photos or customize
ringtones before sending it to their phone or their friends' phones.
Availability & Requirements
Users around the world can begin installing and using ZipClip today for
free. The English language version of ZipClip is available today; the
Chinese language version will be available in early August 2008 during the
Olympics, to be followed by the Spanish version.
Within the U.S., the application is compatible on regular mobile phones
and BlackBerry with AT&T or Sprint service. At this time, ZipClip is not
compatible with other PDAs, including Treo and iPhone. Internationally,
ZipClip will work on most carriers and on Java and Symbian mobile phones.
To use ZipClip, users will need Internet access on their phone; standard
carrier rates will apply.
