Rep. Joe Barton Visits Hexion Specialty Chemicals` Ennis Plant

Chemical Plant Tour Focuses on Industry Jobs and Benefits
ENNIS, Texas--(Business Wire)--
Hexion Specialty Chemicals recently hosted Representative Joe Barton (R-TX) at
its plant in Ennis, Texas, to discuss the critical role the chemistry industry
and Hexion plays in Texas. 

During his visit, Barton participated in discussions with members of the
management team and toured the manufacturing facility. In a meeting with Dan
Key, Vice President Manufacturing; Mark Gruenwald, Director, Product Safety; and
Jon Cremers, Site Manager, the group was able to discuss issues important to the
chemistry industry.

Hexion Specialty Chemicals is the world`s largest producer of binder, adhesive,
coating and ink resins for industrial applications that are used in virtually
thousands of end-use products, such as wood flooring, printing ink and
automobiles. The Ennis plant manufactures a variety of thermoset resins used in
energy, civil engineering, coatings, construction and other industries. 

Hexion and other chemical companies, provide nearly 76,000 good-paying jobs in
the state. In addition, the chemistry industry is a catalyst for other
businesses as it helps generate an additional 400,000 jobs in Texas. For every
chemistry industry job in Texas, an additional 4.2 jobs are created within the
state. According to the American Chemistry Council, the average Texas chemical
company employee earns 47 percent higher than other manufacturing wages in the
state.

releases by 73 percent over the past 18 years and achieved an employee safety
