SUNNYVALE, CA, Apr 08 (MARKET WIRE) --
Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today announced the introduction of its
educational programs designed to help K-12 schools and institutions of higher
education deploy technology solutions for greater collaboration, more effective
teaching, and increased productivity. Fujitsu will focus on mobile computing,
storage and server solutions and will feature bundles on the industry's most
reliable and durable notebook and tablet PCs.

Schools such as Indiana Wesleyan University, the University of Delaware,
College of
Engineering at Virginia Tech, and DePaul Catholic High School have selected
highly reliable and flexible Fujitsu products, including the LifeBook(R)
T4000 Series convertible tablet PC and the ETERNUS(R)4000 SAN to facilitate
collaboration and communication between teachers and students, introduce
students to technology and prepare them for the business world, increase
staff productivity, and safeguard all the valuable data produced by students,
teachers, and administrators.

"Fujitsu recognizes the importance of computing to both the process of
teaching and the preparation of students for a computerized world," said Bill
King, Executive Vice President, Sales, Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation.
"With the increased adoption of tablets in education, Fujitsu, which has a
20-year
heritage in pen-based technology, continues to be a popular choice. Fujitsu
provides highly reliable and flexible solutions that offer excellent ROI and are
backed by a renowned service organization, which is why these institutions
select
Fujitsu."

Fujitsu Computer Systems recently established itself as the clear Wintel
laptop
leader for reliability and customer satisfaction, according to PC Magazine's
20th annual Reader Satisfaction Survey. For the fourth year in a row,
Fujitsu scored significantly better than average in overall satisfaction,
reliability, and likelihood of recommending, and in 2007 received the highest
scores in these categories of any Wintel notebook manufacturer. The entire
report
can be accessed at http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2184105,00.asp.

Mobile computing is inherently a high security risk. Fujitsu notebooks and
tablets are engineered to protect data with a combination of physical, hardware,
and software security solutions that are easy to use yet difficult to breach.
Features include a fingerprint sensor, security lock, and security panel with
over 800,000 possible password combinations. Select Fujitsu notebooks and
tablets are
bundled with three years of Absolute(R) Software's Computrace(R)Complete(TM)
service, a comprehensive IT asset management and theft recovery solution
designed for
the management of notebook computers. Using the service, educational
institutions can
quickly inventory notebook populations, detect unauthorized software and
hardware changes, deter theft and recover those computers that are stolen or go
missing backed by a $1,000 Service Guarantee*.

    Education Market Snapshots

    Indiana Wesleyan University

After nine years and many generations of Fujitsu notebooks, Indiana Wesleyan
University continues to turn to Fujitsu for notebooks. The consistency and
reliability of Fujitsu notebooks enable the university to standardize on one
notebook to deliver business-class technology to its students in a way that
is affordable and convenient, enabling the university to increase enrollment
and revenues.

"Our earliest assessment that Fujitsu notebooks are a quality product has
absolutely been true," says John Jones, vice president of IT at Indiana Wesleyan
University, which has supplied its students, instructors and administrators
with more than 5,000 Fujitsu notebooks over the years. "When you are sending
out thousands of notebooks each year to students who rely on them for their
education, you simply cannot tolerate a high failure rate. Year after year,
Fujitsu notebooks continue to perform well."

    DePaul Catholic High School

Three years after introducing Fujitsu LifeBook computers, including 1,025
Fujitsu LifeBook T4000 Series tablet PCs, DePaul Catholic High School in
Wayne, New Jersey had helped its students become more adept with computers and
made
them better organized and more engaged and enthusiastic about learning.
Teachers also manage all attendance, grades and lesson plans electronically.

College of Engineering at Virginia Tech

The College of Engineering at Virginia Tech is the first and largest
publiccollege of engineering to require all 1,400 incoming freshman to purchase
tablet
PCs. The recommended tablet is the Fujitsu LifeBook T4000 Series convertible
tablet used by students for tasks including taking class notes, collaborating on
group sketches and sharing diagrams and notes with individual mark-ups.
Instructors use tablet PCs to make their lectures more interactive and
encourage participation in the classroom.

    University of Delaware

The University of Delaware is one of the few universities in the U.S.
usingbackup services for everyday data retrieval, not just for disaster
recovery. Using
the highly reliable Fujitsu ETERNUS(R)4000 Model 500 for mission-critical
backup services and intermediary disk storage for disk-to-disk backup, the
school currently backs up 250 servers across the entire university, including
academic research, databases, email and web servers, and the library
catalogue.

"We've been amazed with the number and quality of support people Fujitsu has
sent
out," said Dan Grim, executive director of network and systems services at the
University of Delaware. "With most vendors, the product comes in a box and we
have to put it together ourselves and hope that it will work. The
ETERNUS4000 came with technicians who made sure it worked."
