RSA(R) Conference 2008 Adds ''Research Revealed'' Track
New Track Offers Technical Insight into Security Vulnerabilities
and Threat Research
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
RSA(R) Conference today announced the addition of a new track,
Research Revealed - designed specifically to provide advanced
technical analysis of cutting-edge security vulnerabilities and
threats for the information security community. This track will
consist of 14 sessions and debuts at RSA Conference 2008 - taking
place April 7-11 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Research Revealed attendees will receive deep technical insight
into a variety of topics, such as alleged computerized voting fraud in
the 2008 US presidential election, Storm Worm protocols and
encryption, good viruses, and security challenges in a virtualized
environment.
Research Revealed speakers come from large security companies such
as Symantec, VeriSign and McAfee, and smaller security firms including
Fortify Software and SecureWorks.
Speakers include:
-- Joanna Rutkowska, CEO and founder of Invisible Things Labs,
will address security problems that might arise in virtualized
environments including: the advantages of using
virtualization-based rootkits, virtual machine isolation, VMM
protection via trusted execution, and "nested virtualization"
with its impact on security of virtualized systems.
-- Halvar Flake, founder and head of research for Zynamics GmbH,
will discuss various methods for automated structural
classification of malware as well as their respective
pro/cons.
-- Michael Thurmann, chief security officer and head of the ERNW
"Research" and "Pen-Test" teams, will discuss Reverse
Engineering and the methodology and tools that are used to
answer very specific customer questions relating to software.
