Foundation Coal Announces Availability of 2009 Second Quarter Financial Results

LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, Md.--(Business Wire)--
Foundation Coal Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:FCL) today announced that the company plans
to report its second quarter 2009 results before the market opens on Monday,
July 27, 2009. Management will not be hosting a conference call in conjunction
with the press release.

Foundation Coal Holdings, Inc., through its affiliates, is a major U.S. coal
producer operating mines and associated processing and loading facilities in
Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Through its subsidiaries Foundation
Coal employs approximately 3,000 people and produces approximately 70 million
tons of coal annually, largely for utilities generating electricity.
