SAN DIEGO, CA, Feb 25 (MARKET WIRE) --
Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN) today announced David Roberts, senior vice
president
of Americas sales, has been named a 2008 Channel Chief by CMP Channel's CRN
-- marking the second year in a row Roberts achieved this honor since joining
Websense in April 2006.

Under Roberts' leadership, Websense achieved record channel revenues in
2007. The company also introduced an impressive lineup of new
channel-building resources and better business practices, including Websense
University training programs and the Fast Track on-boarding and training
program for new partners to accelerate time to revenue. Roberts and his team are
also credited with successfully integrating thousands of channel partners
from Websense's acquisitions of PortAuthority and SurfControl into the
ChannelConnect Partner Program. To support its channel partner community,
Websense held its largest partner conference ever in 2007, and took its free
training and education workshops on the road through its "Power through
Partnership" road shows.

"There's no denying that 2007 was a defining, record-setting year for
Websense and our channel partners," says Roberts. "We've come a long way, in a
short time and it's an honor to be recognized by CRN for our continued channel
advocacy and successful execution of meaningful partner programs, products and
support that drive real value for our partners and their clients."

The annual listing of CRN Channel Chiefs recognizes influential IT channel
executives who consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel
partner
programs and strategies. This is the sixth consecutive year that CRN has
developed the Channel Chief list. Top Channel Chiefs were chosen based on
criteria including policy and program innovations made during the past year,
the amount of revenue their company generates through partners, their
willingness
to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they
have dedicated to channel activities.

"Successful channel programs and strategies are what fuel the growing
solution
provider ecosystem," said Dan Dignam, vice president and publisher of CMP
Channel.
"We applaud each of this year's CRN Channel Chiefs for their efforts in
building and advocating the industry's most successful channel programs and
strategies."

Websense has won numerous channel awards including the CompTIA "Best
Solutions
Sales Strategy" award in 2007 and "Best Channel Strategy" award in 2006. In
2007, Websense also won the VARBusiness 5-Star Partner Program award. In Latin
America, Websense software was named "Best Corporate Security Suite" at the
fifth-annual Channel Awards 2007 ceremony in October 2007. Additionally,
Canada's Computer Dealer News named Websense Country Manager Fiaaz Walji one of
the Top 25 Newsmakers of 2007.
