CHADDS FORD, Pa., Jan 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Clarke Bennitt, LLC has sent the
following letter to Marcus Jundt, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Kona Grill,
Inc (KONA).

The letter reads:

VIA EMAIL AND FACSIMILE

January 2, 2009

Marcus Jundt
CEO and Chairman
Kona Grill, Inc
7150 East Camelback Road, #220
Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Dear Marcus:

As managing member of Clarke Bennitt, LLC whose investment funds are a
shareholder of Kona Grill, I feel that it is an obligation to my clients and
other shareholders to express my thoughts and feelings regarding the recently
disclosed public filings by the company and another Kona Grill shareholder.

The 8-K that Kona Grill filed on December 29, 2008 was shocking to read.
Offering shares to James Jundt (your father) at a ridiculously low price of
$1.19 for nearly 5% of the company is completely unacceptable. To further
compound the liquidity problem by offering stock to your father at an all time
low price crosses the boundaries of good taste and in my humble opinion is not
operating as a shareholder friendly CEO. As a shareholder of Kona Grill, we
do not support this transaction.

The mouth dropping news item I read in your 8-K was only outdone by what I
read in Mill Road Capital's 13-D filing dated December 30, 2008. I don't know
how one sleeps at night trying to achieve personal gain at the expense of
shareholders. Once again, it raises questions of your ethics and your
fiduciary duties to shareholders. You need to understand that you are not
working for what is in your (or your father's) best interest but rather you
should be working for what is in the best interest of the company's
shareholders. You have failed miserably on that front. Not only with the
current plan you disclosed in the company's recent 8-K, but in your overall
management of the company since becoming CEO.

Clarke Bennitt LLC recommends that the agreement with James Jundt be rescinded
immediately. We recommend a competitive bidding process takes place or a
rights offering is offered to all shareholders to ensure that a fair price is
being achieved for both Kona Grill and for its shareholders.

Sincerely,

Justin Bennitt
Managing Member
