Oregon Law Firm Creates 'Estates for Plates' Program as the Need for Food
Continues to Grow
As Emergency food-box need hits record levels, attorney Eden Rose Brown
encourages other firms and businesses to pitch in

SALEM, Ore., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Estate planning attorney Eden Rose Brown,
named by Worth Magazine as one of the Top 100 Attorneys in America, has
announced that her law firm is encouraging other professionals and business
owners to fight hunger by adopting her innovative "Estates for Plates" program
into their business model.

Responding to the growing number of unemployed families needing assistance,
Brown developed the "Estates for Plates" program to address the unprecedented
increase in the demand for food from nationwide food banks.

"Last January I read a news story about how food banks around the country were
out of food after being inundated with new requests from needy families. We
started the Estates for Plates program by asking clients coming to our office
to bring non-perishable food items that we then collected and donated to
Marion-Polk Food Share, our local food bank. The program quickly expanded to
asking everyone coming to our office to bring food, including those attending
workshops, seminars, board meetings and other gatherings," said Brown, founder
of the Law Office of Eden Rose Brown.

"The response was and is overwhelming," says Brown. "Thanks to the success of
the "Estates for Plates" program and the generosity of our clients and
colleagues, our firm has donated hundreds of pounds of food to the Oregon Food
Bank network."

"We think 'Estates for Plates' is a great idea and have been truly impressed
with how the Law Office of Eden Rose Brown has implemented this plan in our
community," said Phil McCorkle, vice president for development at Marion-Polk
Food Share, the non-profit regional food bank that accepts the firm's
donations.

"This isn't an issue that only affects Oregonians," says Brown. "There are
people all over the country without enough food to feed themselves or their
families. As business owners and professionals, we can and must step up to
the plate and do our share to support our communities. We want to spread the
word throughout the nation that the "Estates for Plates" program can make a
huge difference in helping the fight against hunger," added Brown.
