Universal Music Publishing Group Signs Exclusive World-Wide Publishing
Agreement With Adam Young of Owl City
"Fireflies" Hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100





LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG)
today announced the signing of an exclusive world-wide publishing agreement
with No. 1 songwriter/artist Adam Young of Owl City. The publishing deal
encompasses all of the Owl City catalogue, including Adam's major label debut
Ocean Eyes.

Owl City's hit song "Fireflies" is currently the best selling track in U.S.
and Canada, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also No. 1
on the iTunes Singles Chart. The single has sold over 1.3 million to date.  

Owl City's first official CD - Ocean Eyes (Universal Republic) - was released
in July of this year and is Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200; No. 2 on the Top
Dance/Electronica Albums chart; and Top 20 on the Billboard Top Digital. Ocean
Eyes has sold nearly over 180,000 copies since its release. Owl City is
currently featured on the 90210 soundtrack with the song "Sunburn."

Adam Young released his first, self released digital release Of June on
MySpace in June 2007. Recorded in his parent's basement, word of mouth began
to spread for Adam's music. Maybe I'm Dreaming, released digitally in March of
2008, was Owl City's full-length debut. Adam became a phenomenon on MySpace
and currently has more than 11 million profile views and 52 million plays -
outstanding for such a short span of time. 

The publishing deal encompasses all of the Owl City catalogue, including the
four singles off of Ocean Eyes, "Fireflies," "Hello Seattle," "Strawberry
Avalanche," and  "Hot Air Balloon." 

Managed by Steve Bursky of Foundations Artist Management, Owl City will
continue Adam's sold out tour of North America this Fall before heading to
China and Japan.
