ATLANTA--(Business Wire)--
TAG Health, a Technology Association of Georgia society, will host an event on
November 10th that will discuss the rollout of federal stimulus funding for the
healthcare sector. This funding will speed the adoption of healthcare technology
by hospitals and physicians statewide, and Georgia finds itself in a leading
position to capitalize on this historical opportunity for transformation.
Georgia is home to many healthcare technology vendors that will benefit as
healthcare providers across the nation further adopt technology to improve the
delivery of care. Secondly, Georgia is home to numerous healthcare providers
that will soon adopt electronic health record systems.
The result will be substantial new business opportunities for healthcare
vendors, and thousands of jobs available for those who are trained (or willing
to be trained) in the planning and deployment of technology throughout the
healthcare field.
However, several key challenges must be addressed before this can be
accomplished. TAG Health`s upcoming event, Vision 2020, will bring together
executive leadership from across the nation and Georgia to discuss these
challenges-and provide practical ideas and timelines for addressing the needs to
make the vision a reality. Emphasis will be placed on accessibility, cost,
quality, and requirements to train and develop a skilled workforce that can
provide not only implementation, but ongoing system use and support.
Who`ll be attending? The very leadership that is responsible for Georgia`s
reputation of excellence in healthcare technology will be present, including
healthcare providers, corporations, state and local government, and educators.
Join TAG Health and CNN Senior Medical Correspondent Elizabeth Cohen on November
10th, as we identify the needs and establish the vision for Georgia to secure
its position of leadership and innovation in Health IT.
The event will be held Tuesday, November 10th, from 7:30am - 12:00 noon at the
Woodruff Arts Center Rich Theatre. To register visit
