DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- ForHealth Technologies Inc.,a recognized innovator in automation systems for hospital pharmacies, ispleased to announce the election of Dennis A. Tribble, Pharm. D. to theposition of Chairman-elect of the Section on Pharmacy Informatics andTechnology of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Dr.Tribble immediately joins the Executive Committee of this section, and willassume the role of Chairman of the section at the ASHP Summer meeting in June,2008 in Seattle, Washington.
ASHP has several sections and forums that offer their members variouschannels by which to communicate and interact with colleagues who share thesame interests, issues, and challenges. The Section on Pharmacy Informaticsand Technology is dedicated to improving health outcomes through the use andintegration of data, information, knowledge, technology, and automation in themedication-use process. In his role as chairman of the section, Dr. Tribblewill oversee the various projects and tasks of the section. He currentlyserves as the Executive Committee Liaison to the Section Advisory Group onAutomation and Documentation.Dr. Tribble has held a number of positions both in practice and inindustry related to pharmacy automation. He is currently Chief TechnologyOfficer at ForHealth Technologies, which develops automation products andsystems for hospital pharmacies. Previously he was Chief Medical Officer atBaxa Corporation, Manager of Utilities Development at Health Data SciencesCorporation, Director of Pharmacy at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in ElkGrove Village, IL, and Assistant Director of Pharmacy at Northwestern MemorialHospital, Chicago, IL. He is a past-president of the Illinois Council ofHealth-System Pharmacists.Dr. Tribble has also published on a variety of subjects related tohospital pharmacy automation, is a charter member of the HIMSS PharmacyInformatics Task Force, and is an inventor on nine patents related to hospitalpharmacy operations. Dr. Tribble received his B.S. degree from MuhlenbergCollege, Allentown, Pennsylvania and his Pharm. D. degree from the Universityof the Pacific School of Pharmacy in Stockton, California. Dr. Tribble alsocompleted a residency in Hospital Pharmacy at The Moses H. Cone MemorialHospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.
