Agile TP Captures a Full Set of Fingerprints in Less than 10 Seconds
STAMFORD, Conn.--(Business Wire)--
L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: ID), a leading supplier of identity
management solutions and services, today introduced Agile TP, a new live scan
fingerprint solution designed for high-volume civil identification programs. The
lightweight, easy-to-use device is capable of capturing a full set of flat
fingerprints in less than 10 seconds. It is ideal for civil identification
systems used at border control checkpoints, airports or other security
terminals, and background checks at job application centers where speed and
accuracy are a necessity. Initial shipments will begin in August to a recently
awarded program in Latin America.

Civil identification systems must be simple to use and require no level of
technical proficiency on the part of the user. At the same time, the system must
be technically sophisticated to process high volumes of people rapidly and
accurately, without causing delays or inconveniences. The innovative Agile TP
user interface enables untrained individuals to use the system with ease,
assisting with proper finger placement and improving processing times. Compact
and portable, the Agile TP is easy to install and launch and is powered by a
standard USB-2.0 interface. Advanced technologies enable the capture of more and
better fingerprint data, such as fine minutiae and ridge detail in all
fingerprint types, thereby reducing variability and the need for recaptures
which lead to processing delays. The Agile TP weighs less than five pounds and
has a large platen size of 3.2 inches x 3 inches for even greater portability
and usability.

Richard A. Agostinelli, President of the Biometrics Division of L-1 Identity
Solutions stated, "We offer more options and flexibility for any civil
application where live scans are used, giving our customers the ability to pick
and choose depending on their budgets and requirements. The addition of Agile TP
puts us in a strong position to take advantage of a rapidly growing market for
biometric civil ID applications."

The Agile TP meets a wide range of international government standards. It is
certified for use with Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) systems and is
Personal Identity Verification (PIV) approved for the identification and
authentication of Federal employees and contractors. Agile TP also meets the
European Union RoHS Regulation, a standard that restricts the use of specific
hazardous materials in electrical and electronic products.

L-1 offers a wide range of fingerprint devices for criminal, military and
civilian applications. This includes single fingerprint readers for forensic and
commercial use, slap and roll devices for criminal and civil applications, and a
rugged live scan version for military use in harsh environments. More than
15,000 L-1 live scan systems are installed globally today.
