TicketNetwork Partners With GoCrossCampus for 2008 Ivy League Championship
Second annual battle of the Ivies to kick off on September 16th
NEW YORK, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Last year, GoCrossCampus created the
largest competitive event in the history of the Ivy League. This year, the
social gaming company has partnered with TicketNetwork as exclusive presenting
sponsor.
Launching on September 16th, the Ivy League Championship is a massive
online GoCrossCampus game widely expected to engage at least 12,000 Ivy League
players daily over a period of two months. Last year's Ivy League
Championship was featured in the New York Times, MTV News, CBS News and other
media outlets. "We've come a long way since then," said Brad Hargreaves,
President and CEO of GXStudios, the parent company of GoCrossCampus. "We're
expecting the 2008 Ivy League Championship to be our biggest game yet, and
TicketNetwork's sponsorship will help us make this another resounding
success."
TicketNetwork is the largest exchange of sought-after tickets to sold-out
concert, sporting, and theater events all across the country. "We are very
excited to be working with TicketNetwork during the Championship," explained
Erik Semmelhack, Executive Vice President at GXStudios. "The opportunity for
engagement here is tremendous, and we are pleased with TicketNetwork's
forward-thinking advertising insight into our targeted college market focus."
"GoCrossCampus provides an innovative and unique way to deeply engage
college audiences," said Molly Martinez, General Manager, TicketNetwork.com.
"We are thrilled to be working with them over the next six weeks and beyond to
make the Ivy League Championship a success."
The tournament launches on September 16th. Participants can demonstrate
their spirit and dominate their rival schools on the innovative new social
gaming platform GoCrossCampus (GXC for short), created by student-founded web
startup company, GXStudios.
Combining elements of social networking, online gaming, and
inter-collegiate sports rivalry, GoCrossCampus fosters campus unity and
rekindles traditional Ivy League rivalries -- online as well as offline.
Matthew O. Brimer, Chief Marketing Officer of GoCrossCampus, elaborates,
"Whether it's the nightly team strategy meetings, the networks of spies on
other campuses, or the massive recruitment efforts in dorms and dining halls,
GXC bridges the real and online worlds."
Last year's Ivy League Championship garnered nearly 11,000 players from
all eight Ivies. "This year, we plan on breaking that record," said Nick Selz
(Yale '11), Director of the Ivy League Championship.
