Organization to establish and promote quality control for CFLs includes national
lighting associations in Asia and most influential lighting manufacturers in the
world
SAVANNAH, Ga.--(Business Wire)--
PureSpectrum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PSPM) president and CEO Lee Vanatta will join
other founding members of the Asia Lighting Compact at the Hong Kong Lighting
Fair on October 29 to celebrate the establishment of an organization intended to
articulate and promote quality control for Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) in
Asia.

Initially introduced at the Asia Clean Energy Forum in 2008, the Asia Lighting
Compact (ALC) is sponsored by the United States Agency for International
Development (USAID) and the Asian Development Bank and is the standard-setting
organization for lighting in Asia. The current activities of the ALC include
administration and promotion of a quality guarantee system for CFLs in Asia and
the operation and maintenance of the Asia Quality Registry, an online system for
reporting and tracking of high quality energy efficient lighting products. In
September, PureSpectrum signed a memorandum of understanding to join leading
lighting manufacturers such as GE, Philips and OSRAM/Sylvania as a founding
member of the ALC.

During the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair, PureSpectrum will be formally
recognized as a founding member of the organization and a primary supplier of
high quality, high performance lighting products. Additionally, Vanatta will
participate in the ALC membership meeting and media appearance to continue the
process of shaping and promoting lighting policy and quality standards in Asia.

"Being a part of the Asia Lighting Compact is a tremendous opportunity for
PureSpectrum to influence the future of lighting in Asia," Vanatta said. "We are
also grateful for the opportunity to make connections with some of the most
important people and organizations in the Asian lighting industry as well as
members of organizations from around the world that believe in identifying high
quality, high performance energy efficient lighting products. As a company that
expects to its products to be globally relevant, we feel strongly that being a
member of the ALC will benefit our company on many levels and enable us to be an
integral part of the transition to energy efficient lighting in Asia."

PureSpectrum`s membership in the ALC was fostered by the company`s international
marketing partner, Global Initiatives, and Global Initiatives` managing director
Ken Lane said his goal during the trip to Hong Kong is to introduce
PureSpectrum`s brand and products to critical audiences such as suppliers,
distributors, buyers and retailers in the region.

"The focus of the ALC is going to be on CFLs, but by making connections for
PureSpectrum with executive management representatives and governmental agencies
we are creating a platform for the company`s products to become a staple in
Asia," Lane said. "Attending this show is a great opportunity for important
decision makers in this region of the world to become more familiar with the
PureSpectrum name, and it also presents the company with the possibility of
gaining access to and further understanding the bidding process for large
international projects. By virtue of the relationships that will be built during
this show and being a member of a powerful organization like the ALC that will
exercise influence on which lighting companies and products are accepted in
Asia, PureSpectrum is building a platform for high volume international sales."
