American Banker and U.S. Banker Call for Nominations for Its 2009 The 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking(TM) Ranking

  NEW YORK, NY, Jul 13 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
Nominations are being accepted for the seventh annual The 25 Most
Powerful Women in Banking ranking, which will appear in the October issue
of U.S. Banker magazine.

    The ranking recognizes the professional achievements and personal tenacity
of top-performing women in financial services. The editors of American
Banker and U.S. Banker, SourceMedia's leading banking publications, will
select the winners. Nominations are being accepted through July 31, 2009.

    The ranking is based on short- and long-term financial performance as well
as quantifiable business results. Honorees also are evaluated on
qualitative measures, including job responsibility, management style, best
practices/innovations implemented, charitable work and overall influence.

    "This award recognizes women who have excelled in the financial services
industry during a period of rapid change," said Barbara Rehm,
editor-in-chief of American Banker. "They are transforming their
businesses and improving their communities."

Eligibility


--  The 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking: An executive must be in her
    position for at least one year as of July 30, 2009, and hold a title of
    senior vice president or higher within a bank, division, group or
    subsidiary of a bank holding company.

--  Top 25 Nonbank Women in Finance: An executive must be in her position
    for at least one year as of July 30, 2009, and hold a title of senior vice
    president or higher in a securities, asset management, insurance, private
    equity or exchange company.

--  Top Three Banking Teams: Three teams of bankers will be honored based
    on financial performance of the company, the percentage of women corporate
    officers and growth-engine businesses led by women.

--  Marjorie Magner Lifetime Achievement Award: Women nominated for the
    Marjorie Magner Lifetime Achievement Award must be committed to supporting
    education, equal opportunity, and diversity, whether in public or corporate
    communities.  Candidates must have a minimum of 25 years of experience
    (currently employed or retired) in financial services.
